little bit of a smile for that picture but they are very upset this morning. they are making sure the fire does not sparked back up again. fire will look into what caused the fire. they do not know at this time. the red cross is on scene helping them as well. we willor to get some updates as we go through the morning. >> astronomers are all abuzz this morning after three cosmic events in the last 24 hours. the latest one spotted right here in the bay area. youtube video on the left of your screen shows a blue flash across the sky. it was taken by a driver along interstate 2-80. on the upper right. an asteroid that was expected 11 last night. the football field sized asteroid passing the earth within 17-thousand miles. that's closer than some

satellites. and on the bottom right, a meteorite that exploded friday in russia. it sent a shockwave over the ural mountains. 900 miles east of moscow. windows on some four thousand buildings were shattered and 12-hundred people were injured. many of them because of he flying glass. astronomers say, all three cosmic events were coincidental. unrelated to one another based on the directions they were going in and their different points of origin. it might seem coincidental but a lot of people are thinking it is let's take >> let's take a quick look outside this morning. let's check in with janu for it is a beautiful start to a beautiful weekend. cloudy skies this morning but plenty of sunshine into the afternoon. in another warm day in store for us as well. cloudy and mild conditions overnight. not too bad of a

one suspect was arrested at that location. then police searched for a second suspect. the swat team was called to an apartment complex in north oakland. after several hours, police >> two san francisco men, bound and beaten with a hatchet. now police are looking for three suspects wanted in connection with a violent home invasion burglary. kron four's philippe djegal reports police believe the home was randomly targeted >> the front steps of this home appear to be stained in blood. a clear indication of how brutal thursday night's attack in san francisco's noe valley was. police say a 69-year-old man was asleep in this green home on the 300 block of 27th street at around 10- 30 in the evening. when three men broke in. tied him up and beat him with a hatchet. police say while the suspects ransacked the house, stealing jewelry. the victim's 58-year-old

roommate came home. and, he too was beaten with a hatchet. police say the burglary lasted about an hour, before the suspects ran off. investigators say the victim's were taken to a local hospital with serious cuts. but non-life threatening injuries. clarke de maigret lives across the street. saying crime is rare in this area. it's mostly homes, and mom and pop businesses thatsot- it is shocking. you would not expect that to happen in this neighborhood. it is stunning. there is not much going on in this area after 9:00 at night it is usually quiet. you only see a handful of people in the streets. certainly not a neighborhood you expect to see anything like that happen. >> police say all three suspects wore dark clothing, and are all believed to be between 25 and 35 years old. two of the men described as hispanic. the third suspect was wearing a dark mask. in san francisco, philippe

>> new details in the case of former l.a. police officer christopher dorner. believed responsbile for the murders of four people. autopsy results show. dorner died from a single gunshot police say, it appears to have been self-inflicted. they say, dorner hid across the street from a police command post. before barricading himself in the cabin in the san bernardino mountains. at a news conference, authorities also showed several weapons. believed to >> ".dangerous high powered weapon" >> police have taken down the crime scene tape where dorner died. >> his charred remains were found in this rubble.there were initial questions about whether law enforcement deliberately set the fire causing dorner's death. officials denied that saying they fired off tear

gas canisters to smoke the fugitive out of the cabin but that may have fueled the flames. >> the memories are still raw but passengers on board the carnival cruise ship triumph are trying to put their experience behindmany of the roughly three thousand passengers in mobile, alabama were bussed to airports to catch a flight home. to make matters worse, one of the busses broke down during a two hour ride to new orleans. passengers on another bus reported losing their luggage. the cruise ship lost power knocking out electricity and making toilets unusable. while many called it a horrible experience, others talked about it being a bonding moment with fellow passengers. the national transportation safety board, coast guard and other officials are investigating the cause of the fire and emergency still to come on kron 4 news we get it is a dangerous prank. >> let's take a quick look outside this morning.

ocean beach. upper 60s and low 70's for the north bay we'll be driving down to the low fifties by tuesday. another round of light rain on thursday. it is about >> a santa cruz county man and school district employee has been arrested. he's suspected of touching children and exposing himself. authorities say 51 year old carl guerin of live oak was taken into custody on wednesday. guerin is the director of technology at the scott's valley unified school district. but he does not have contact with students. his alleged crimes are believed to be isolated events with children he met outside of the school more information of the deadliest standing of a teenager in san jose. he is thought to a been stabbed to death tuesday evening following an altercation about a block from san jose

high school. the killing is believed to be gang-related. and now there are concerns of possible retaliation and escalation of gang violence in the area it is an unfortunate and never ending cycle. there is no word on the suspects but there are several witnesses helping in the investigation>> a bay area community is mourning the loss of a teenager. she was hit and killed while crossing the street in antioch earlier this week. police say neither speed nor alcohol played a factor in the accident. kron 4's alecia reid reports from antioch where the victims' schoolmates gathered in her memory. >> may the lord help the family there was prayer singing and singingand lots of

mourning for hasanati white. the black diamond middle school teen was hit and killed thursday. after hearing the news, schoolmates organized a candlelight vigil. young faces sob at every turn. she was only fourteen. a spunky girl they say, mature beyond her years. first time i met her we went out and actually fed the homeless in berkeley, which was really cool. she was always happy and smiling. she was always dancing this very flamboyant personality everyb it is just a shame you know. a young girl that didn't get a chance to really live for life. she was one of the prettiest girl that i met. schwe used to sing together at church, and it's just sad that she is gone. she acted
